MY MOTIVATION
I run... sometimes... or most of the time. Some get it, some don't (why the vigorous effort and hardship one must put his/her body through?)
This would be my 2nd time joining KLSCM's run-for-a-cause. It is yet another opportunity to bring attention and awareness of the wonderful work that civil societies are doing in our community. Many thanks to my friends, peers, running community, and the wider network in helping to raised RM 2,000 in 2022's KLSCM for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia.
Although I am not a medical doctor, I do work in the space of global and public health. It is important to recognise the community level supports that became part of the health systems, complementing services provided by hospitals.
Hospis Malaysia provides professional community palliative care to those with life-limiting illnesses. Hospices maintains patients' dignity by focusing on their comfort and quality of life. The aim of Hospis Malaysia is to enhance the quality of life of patients by assessing their medical, psychological and emotional conditions. There's no fundraising target, any amount is a good amount that goes towards Hospis Malaysia's capacity.
