The Standard Chartered KL Marathon, Malaysia's premier running event is back again this year and will be held at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, 4 October 2015.
The event was officially launched today at the Standard Chartered KL Park by the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Seri Hj. Ahmad Phesal bin Hj. Talib. It also marks the opening of registrations for all categories of the Standard Chartered KL Marathon.
35,000 runners from all around the world are expected to participate in various distance categories, making Standard Chartered KL Marathon an international sporting event that is accessible to everybody, from all walks of life.
Since its inception, over 115,000 runners from more than 48 countries have participated in the Standard Chartered KL Marathon. With a total of USD 125,000 in prize money, elite runners will also be competing in one of the most lucrative races in Malaysia.
The Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2015 is once again made possible by title sponsor Standard Chartered Bank, and along with event owner and organiser, Dirigo Events Sdn. Bhd. and co-organiser Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.
Celebrating Standard Chartered Bank’s 140th anniversary, the Bank recently ran a contest on SCKLM’s Instagram page inviting participants to submit the best photos of the Marathon. A total of 140 winners were selected to win complimentary entries to the Full Marathon.
Apart from the title sponsor, the event is also supported by returning gold sponsors, MSIG Insurance and Honda Malaysia, official partners, Seiko, Pacific Regency Hotel Group and 100 Plus.
Dirigo Events Sdn. Bhd. also welcomes Adidas as the official apparel brand for Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2015 and official suppliers, Salonpas, 2XU, GP Battery and Repucom completes the list of supporting brands.
